VITO DECANDIA
If there’s one thing everyone loves, it’s a great story and it was that love of great stories, and great story-telling, that led me to pursue a career in film and video editing. With over 20 years of experience in post-production, I've worked on everything from broadcast commercials and short films to episodic television series and feature documentaries. I'm an enthusiastic team player, but also happy to work independently with a commitment to deliver quality content that is innovative, entertaining, and above all memorable.
As a highly skilled visual storyteller, I’ve delivered content distributed across numerous broadcast and digital platforms including PBS, TBS, ABC, OWN, HBO, History Channel, Discovery, Showtime, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Studios as well as numerous film festivals around the country. I’ve collaborated with many of the industry’s most celebrated directors, brands, and talent. Some of my clients include American Express, Apple,
State Farm, Volkswagen, Audible, NFL, Procter & Gamble, and the Wall Street Journal. Directors and talent include Joe Berlinger, Bennett Miller, Liz Garbus, Fisher Stevens,
Henry-Alex Rubin, Steve Buscemi, Fred Armisen, David Blaine, and Jon Bon Jovi.
In 2015 I worked as the lead editor on the Emmy award-winning web series “Park Bench with Steve Buscemi” and most recently worked on the 2023 Emmy-nominated series “Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi”. Some of my other recent work includes
“Stay Prayed Up” (Feature Documentary), “Unguarded” (Short-form Documentary),
and “Sasha Velour’s Nightgowns” (Short-form Documentary series).
I look forward to helping you tell your story.
